Idaho Voices for Children hosted our annual May Meeting on Wednesday, May 17th, from 11:30am-1:00pm at Intermountain Gas, Co. We enjoyed celebrating with our supporters, reviewing wins for Idaho’s children this past year, and bringing you up to speed on our future plans.
Director Lauren Necochea shared the impact of the latest state legislature session and ongoing state and federal level work to protect the rights of children here in Idaho and the US.
Guest speaker, Hillarie Hagen, discussed the importance of MIECHV, the Federal Home Visiting Program. She outlined her personal experience of participating in a home visiting program as a young mother and later volunteering for the same program as a student in BSU’s Undergraduate Social Work program.
Tasty lunches were provided by Boise-based nonprofit, Create Common Good, beverages were donated from Hayden Beverage Co, and as always, the event space provided by Intermountain Gas Company was wonderful.
This is always a great chance to get informed about children’s policy in Idaho and connect even more deeply with our state’s child-focused crowd. We look forward to seeing you again next year!
